Undercurrent: Arts and Wellbeing [Curatorial Work with Exhibition Tour and Catalogue Publication 'Creative Returns']

The Undercurrent: Arts and Wellbeing exhibition (2022-2023) is a two-part curated exhibition that deals with the conceptual practices of artists who are staff and/or HDR students within the international and national tertiary sector. Many of the artists address their own personal health experiences and work across multiple areas of creative practice to engage in diverse aspects of wellbeing.

With shared sentiments, this exhibition has come together through a partnered approach with several key institutions including Australia Catholic University, Queensland University of Technology, University of Auckland and University of Canberra. The first part of the exhibition was launched at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) Arts A Block Gallery in September 2022 as part of the Creative Returns: Reformation, Recovery, Renewal – the UniSQ Arts and Wellbeing symposium and showcase. There has been much delight in this exhibition touring to St Andrews hospital, Toowoomba in 2023, resulting an addition of new artists and artworks – some with deep connections with St Andrew’s hospital.
