Abstract

Singaporean Literature in English is abundant, vibrant and diverse, reflecting the central role of the English language in the public discourse of the citystate. The consolidation of a tradition and establishment of a distinctive literary genre now depend on the emergence of new, younger voices. This present collection reflects the efforts of one such voice, that of Philip Jeyaretnam, whose prose fiction has rightly attracted international as well as national attention.
