Abstract

The experience of working in the varied roles of curator, academic and artist has enabled me to gain an informed understanding of the platform of possibilities for public art. Whether public art and design is integrated or monumental, what is often not discussed are the various models of integration that can be employed to best fulfil the value of critical contemporary practice within the urban environment. This essay aims to redress that situation.
