The call of the country: collected papers on land use

The past decade has seen an unusual increase in environmental awareness in Australia Central to this change has been the Landcare movement, the early development of which was recorded in The Birth of Landcare, published by this Centre in 1990. That compilation was followed by a second collection of papers in Ground Rules: Perspectives on Land Stewardship (1993) which covered the early years of the Decade of Landcare (1990-2000).
This third volume draws together a series of invited state, national and international presentations on a somewhat wider range of topics than the previous collections. The papers have been arranged into five general categories and, as a result, considerable repetition of material is apparent.
