Abstract | Juvenile delinquency is one of the major social problems in Nepal. This problem has many social, political, economic and cultural backgrounds, causes and conditions. This study revealed that a number of variables such as bad company, broken homes or drug abuse are main contributing factors to the emergence of juvenile delinquency. This study recommends a holistic approach to provide juvenile justice. Legislative reform required in order for the prevention of juvenile delinquency in Nepal to succeed will include effective judicial interventions and institutional commitment. Furthermore changes required at family, social and cultural level will include: raising awareness community members, strengthening the institutional capacity including concerned officials to strengthen the juvenile justice system in Nepal. |
