| Description of Performance | ‘Field’ a solo contemporary performance (manifesting as video installations) is an emerging practice for David, who has spent much of his career as a theatre director, dramaturge, and festival director. This is the second iteration of the work, exhibiting under Parallel Projects, The Art Room Melbourne in early 2024. 'Field' (White-card) is a Low-Fi intermedial work exploring post-human contemporary performance. The work explores de-anthropocentric performativity through a series of material assemblages with minimal digital manipulation. In each chapter of the work, the body, is considered through a new materialist lens. That being, de-privileging the human, through de-centred and destabilised creative strategies – so that all materials perform in an equally sensuous dynamic. |
