AbstractThis work intends to make a journey to the main Honduran heritage elements related to astronomical knowledge, mainly through the investigations carried out, or in process, in the country. The ethnicity of the Copán archeological site is visited, thus inviting the reader to rethink its architectural and astronomical elements. It breaks with the idea of a monolithic Mayan culture impermeable to the knowledge of other contemporary peoples that surrounded the Mayan lands. Beyond the archeological heritage of Copán and the Mayan culture, other relevant elements of astronomical interest in rock art and, especially, in the ancestral astronomical knowledge of the Tolupán and other indigenous peoples are explained. This seeks to place this heritage within the Central and Mesoamerican regions, thereby providing the elements of criteria for comprehensive regional cultural knowledge.
