Abstract | Records & Information Management is not considered a glamorous field of work. It is a responsibility that many people tend to leave till the last minute or pass onto someone else. As information professionals, it can be difficult to tread the line between meeting client needs and compliance obligations. Furthermore, constraints of time and resources (money, people, technology, etc.) impact on the information management service delivery. The reason that we exist is to help our clients make and document business decisions and meet compliance requirements. It is also true that we stand in the gap between the support of our clients and compliance – but at the essence of all that we do is a culture of service to assist in meeting the business needs of our clients. In order to foster and raise the profile of recordkeeping in an organisation a multi-faceted service approach is necessary. This presentation looks at a number of ways that information professionals can market their services as they are going about their day-to-day activities. |
