Title of Conference Proposal: Multiple Case Explorations of Australian Banking Organisations Creating Social and Economic Value: Application of Shared Value Framework.

Abstract:
The study has strived to explore simultaneous social and economic value creation by large Australian banking organisations integrating ‘Shared Value' (Porter and Kramer, 2011) framework more cohesively into their core business mechanism and strategy. The study has adopted a qualitative multiple case design to conduct semi-structured open-ended face to face interviews for collection of primary data. Based on the interpretive paradigm; the study has conducted a thematic analysis of shared value initiatives for value creation based on total three thematic components derived from the applied three-level shared value framework (i.e. re-conceiving products and markets, value chain configuration, enabling clustered collaboration). The findings have denoted the banking organisation-wide similarities and differences based on the emphasis given to socio-economic-communal inclusion and product innovation based on the new value proposition.
