What You Want

'What You Want' is an original song by Mark Sholtez, recorded as part of vocalist Kristin Berardi’s new release, The Light and the Dark.

The album brings to light the beauty and injustices that occur in life. Expect honesty, raw emotion, and dynamic performances from modern jazz luminaries including trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, pianist Miro Sprague, double bassist Marty Jaffe, and drummer Jerome Jennings. Guest appearances include saxophonist Troy Roberts and bassist Sam Anning, who also produced the session.

About Kristen Beradi
Kristin Berardi is a creative musician, composer and educator and is passionate about sharing music. Originally from Qld Australia, she now resides in Switzerland where she teaches at HSLU, in Luzern. Her accolades include: • recipient of The Churchill Fellowship 2020 • winning the Montreux Jazz Festival's International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2006 • winning the National Freedman Fellowship (one recipiant for jazz and classical per year. Berardi is the only vocalist to have recieved one for Jazz) • winner of National Jazz Award, Voice, 2012 • winner of National Bell Award for The Best Jazz Vocal album, 2010, 2013, 2016 • nominated for an ARIA 2013
