Abstract | The integration of technology, such as biofeedback, neurofeedback, augmented reality, virtual reality, eye tracking, wearables and smartphones, provided an exciting new frontier in sport psychology domain. The main objective of this publication was to acknowledge and assess the conjunct technological approaches that were integrated in the applied psychology practices by the sport psychology practitioners of the National Sports Institutes of Malaysia in the high-performance setting. The focus group approach through a purposive sampling method was administered to obtain the relevant insights from all the participants. Eight components were presented based on the description of each participant with careful consideration on interpretive and representative in the difference of thoughts revealed individually and collectively. They are (i) Flip Flop Reflex Tester, (ii) concentration grid online, (iii) MUSE the brain sensing headband, (iv) In The Mood website, (v) mobile meditation application, (vi) Mood Board, (vii) behavioural analysis, and (viii) #PsychMapping. The continuous process of adapting, exploring, and integrating of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, could significantly impact the integration with psychology practices in sport settings. More evidence-based studies, specifically in real-life competitive settings, could be generated on effectiveness of the respective technologies in service delivery process. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024. |
