Biography
Polly Chester is a social worker, academic and wellbeing consultant.
Polly works to improve the communication skills, mental health and wellbeing of people working in demanding, emotionally laborious professions. Using a combination of systems, anti-oppressive, compassion focused and trauma informed approaches, Polly helps individuals and organisations operationalise principles of trauma-informed care within their self-care, practice, processes, structure and culture.
Polly's research interests are wide-ranging but have primarily focused upon the implementation of recovery-oriented mental health practice in complex environments. Polly is currently undertaking a PhD thesis by publication at UniSQ on the responsiveness of the social work's professional identity to 21st century practice demands.
