Abstract | A series of poly (amide acid)s (PAA) and polyimides (PI) films were synthesized from the dianhydride monomer of 4,4'-oxydiphthalic dianhydride (ODPA) and the diamine monomer of 1,4-phenylenediamine (PDA) and 4,4'-oxydianiline (ODA) respectively with low temperature condensation process. The structures and mechanical properties of PAA and PI were analyzed by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and universal material tester. The mechanical properties of the ODPA-PDA and ODPA-ODA films were compared. The results indicate that the imidization of PAA is almost fully completed; the elemental composition and spatial configuration of the polymer chain segment have remarkable influence on the mechanical properties of PAA and PI films. The tensile strength of the PI(ODPA-PDA) thin film reaches 450 MPa. |
