• To describe some of the characteristics that may be present in people with intellectual disability
• To understand how students with intellectual disability may be supported at school
• To consider the process for designing an individualised educational program
• To describe the process for carrying out a functional assessment
• To identify teaching strategies that may be appropriate for students with intellectual disability
