8 arrangements of hymns, in which the material is reconfigured and varied in every stanza, was performed in a large bracket by a major Indonesian choir, 'Consolatio' as part of their 21st annual concert. Each piece takes a pre-existing hymn tune, reharmonises it then presents the thematic material in different combinations, voicings and harmonisations. The result is a new genre of work within the Indonesian church music context.

8 arrangements of hymns, in which the material is reconfigured and varied in every stanza, was performed in a large bracket by a major Indonesian choir, 'Consolatio' as part of their 21st annual concert. Each piece takes a pre-existing hymn tune, reharmonises it then presents the thematic material in different combinations, voicings and harmonisations. The result is a new genre of work within the Indonesian church music context.

The choir Consolatio was founded in 1989 by then University of North Sumatra students. I was a consultant with the choir until 1995. This year I have written four new arrangements and one original choral piece for this ensemble. The choir has been active for 25 years.
