Abstract | We analyze the nonlinear Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation to develop accurate discretizations modeling its dynamics on coarse grids. The analysis is based upon center manifold theory, so we are assured that the discretization accurately models the dynamics and may be constructed systematically.
