Abstract | Joopal began life initially an April Fools Day Joke on Joomla!'s home page about a convergence of Drupal and Joomla! into a new entity called 'Joopal'. This talk covers the attempts to make Joopal a reality and covers steps that were undertaken and examination of design decisions on the part of both Drupal and Joomla! that made life easier and harder in some areas. Drumla is the sibling projects to Joopal with a copy of Joomla! running under Drupal, something significantly easier due to Joomla!'s design. But what makes an application easy to integrate? This presentation will cover some of the more interesting aspects of the design of both Drupal and Joomla! demonstrating how choices can drastically make future integration work harder and providing tips to avoid pitfalls. |
