Abstract | Relay is becoming one of the most desirable techniques proposed in LTE-Advanced systems to improve the capacity and coverage. However, with the introduction of relays, users accessing to the relays need to use two links, i.e., the enhanced Node B (eNB) to relay node (RN) link also known as the backhaul link and the RN to User Equipment (UE) link also known as the access link. This poses new challenges to resource allocation and the wireless link capacity. We propose a novel scheduling scheme based on the distributed queue information which can keep balance between the two links in this paper. Through system level simulations, we analyze the backhaul link quality and point out that the backhaul link is the bottleneck of the downlink for relay systems. |
