Biography

Victoria Wilson is an interdisciplinary qualitative researcher committed to amplifying unheard voices in education and health. Her research is focused on investigating and finding solutions to systemic communication barriers with under-represented groups in order to improve educational and health equity.

She undertook her PhD at the University of Queensland on trauma-informed second language teaching in the Australian university context, and has published and presented widely on this topic.

In addition to her PhD, Victoria has a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics (UNE), a Bachelor of Business (Journalism) with Distinction (QUT), a Bachelor of Business- Honours (Communication) (QUT), and a Cambridge CELTA (Seville). Victoria taught English as a Foreign Language in the private sector in Nagoya and Fukushima, Japan for 7 years prior to starting employment at University of Southern Queensland in 2014.
