Biography

I began working in academia after completing a Doctorate in 2019. My research has been concentrated on the enablers of the voices of people with disability in society.

Prior to that I worked as a social worker on numerous grant-funded community development projects, as a sexual violence counsellor and with people with disability or other factors that affected their participation in society.

I have a long career in community broadcasting as a producer, trainer and advocate for others to be included and have a voice, founding the Audio Ability Project and working with the Community Media Training Organisation; and as an environmental justice campaigner where I began to understand the myriad impacts of social and environmental factors on people's lives.
