Abstract | This study aims at examining the relationship between largest blockholding and firm economic performance in Bangladesh, an emerging economy. It is found that there is a significant positive relationship between the largest blockholding and firm performance under both the accounting and market based performance measures. This study reveals that, largest blockholding, by narrowing the gap between ownership and control, allows the blockholder to add value to the firm. |
