Abstract | This chapter focuses on the expanding civic role and challenges for investigative journalists using digital and social media. The chapter includes conversations with Danielle Cronin (national deputy editor of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation), as well as Professor Philip Howard (director of the Oxford Internet Institute), along with Distinguished Professor Julian Thomas (director of the ARC Centre of Excellence at RMIT University).
