Abstract

Employers worldwide want graduates who have work and life skills and are especially looking for graduates who have well-developed communication, team-work and problem-solving skills. Students are most likely to develop them when the skills are integrated into regular course work and are taught by the subject teacher. Teaching both subject content and skills challenges academic staff to reflect on and, where necessary, to make changes to what and how they teach and assess.
