Abstract | YMCA South East Queensland aims to reduce climate change effects within its communities and partnerships. We conducted a mixed-method approach, including a literature review and a staff survey. The review identified four areas to improve sustainability: ICT and social enterprise partnerships, staff education, food waste reduction, and op shop utilization. The survey revealed five key domains of environmental practices, with recycling being the most common. Barriers included costs and lack of resources and communication. Four recommendations were made: environmental education programs, effective communication, resource allocation, and future planning based on staff needs. These steps will help YMCA enhance sustainability efforts. |
