Abstract | Society must embrace economic sustainability, which entails eradicating poverty and ensuring environmental protection, with specific regard to the existential problem of climate change. Persons with disabilities (different abilities) are often among the poorest in society and are significantly more vulnerable to climate change, particularly in developing countries. From a macroeconomic perspective, this compels the adoption of an inclusive paradigm, focusing on independent living, equal employment opportunities and full participation in decision-making. Within this framework, the most fundamental need is arguably employment and the development of inclusive ICT shows the utmost potential. From a microeconomic perspective, the key question is establishing uniform regulation to create a predictable framework for trade and investment on a global scale, for instance, by outlining clear criteria that trigger the law applicable to property assets owned by people with disabilities. |
