Abstract | This article describes a study carried out by the author to gain insight into the views and experiences of such student nurses and their teachers. The study originates from a concern about the ability of the nursing profession to provide nursing care to patients from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds, particularly given the relatively small number of non-English speaking background nurses working in Victorian hospitals and the apparent lack of university nursing graduates from non-English speaking backgrounds. |
