Workshop presented to approx. 80 attendees

Abstract

A level 2 S&C coach who has taught at regional high schools for over 30 years and conducted a plethora of S&C/Fitness sessions with students from all physical activity backgrounds and abilities in his HPE classes, the presenter has created, adopted and adapted numerous organisational set-ups for such sessions to meet the large number of variables which can present themselves on any given day. This active workshop will allow attendees to participate in some of these organisational options - which can cater for groups up to 70 depending on the space available (often only slightly larger than a basketball court). Some of the wide range of movements (using bodyweight and readily available equipment) and activities utilised by the presenter to keep these fitness sessions fun and varied will also be practised. Moreover, strategies used to successfully enhance the students’ enjoyment and boost their engagement will be discussed and demonstrated.
