Abstract

There appears to be confusion amongst HPE practitioners, teachers-in-training and students as to what constitutes core strength and stability and their impact on all types of movements from gross motor skills like running, striking and walking to finer ones such as handwriting. This active workshop will give attendees the chance to broaden their knowledge in this area and allow them to participate in a range of practical and fun activities which the presenter has used in a variety of settings to enhance students' core strength and stability. Modifications to cater for various contexts and abilities will also be discussed and demonstrated.
