Biography

Dr Jaz Skinner completed her PhD at the University of Queensland where she investigated Vitamin K and Vitamin K-dependent protein (VKDP) functioning in the horse. Her primary research interests revolve around utilising cutting-edge proteomics techniques to identify crucial biomarkers associated with disease and infection in production and companion animals, as well as leveraging advanced sensors and technology to enhance the precision and efficiency of animal health and welfare monitoring.

With a lifelong passion for horses and livestock, Jaz brings a wealth of practical experience to her teaching roles, aiming to inspire the next generation of animal scientists. Her extensive research background includes investigations into nutrition, pharmacology, and exercise physiology in production and companion animals.
