Abstract | The purpose of the study is to explore the nature and extent of financial exclusion of Muslim community in Australia. Financial exclusion refers to a situation where people do not have access to fair, safe and affordable banking products and services. The study will also investigate whether the introduction of Islamic Finance products and services in Australia will improve the financial inclusion level of Muslim community. The study also will seek to understand the level of awareness of Islamic Finance products and services in Australia. From the literature review undertaken, it appears that there may not be any information available on the level of financial exclusion among the Muslim community in Australia. It is also proven by previous studies that lack of Islamic Financial products and services has been the major factor that contributed to the financial exclusion among the Muslim communities around the world. |
