Data Description | Images of wheat and barley tissues colonised by the pathogens Fusarium pseudograminearum, Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei and Puccinia striiformis were obtained after staining using a novel technique. This new technique was demonstrated to allow differential staining of host and pathogen tissues in leaves and stems. Several staining combinations were assessed. The selected procedure using solophenyl flavine 7GFE and safranin provided high contrast informative images of fungal and plant structures during pathogenesis. |
