Preface [to La contrattazione costituzionale dei livelli di autonomia: modelli per una comparazione]

This volume bears the title of a seminar held on the 28th November 2019 at the Department of Law of the University of Brescia in collaboration with the School of Law and Justice of the University of Southern Queensland. However, this is not a simple collection of the seminary documents. In fact, from that meeting the idea was born of engaging a heterogeneous group of publicist and comparative scholars on the investigation of some paradigmatic experiences regarding the negotiation of levels of autonomy and the settlement of conflicts between center and periphery or between social groups. Each of the studies contained in this volume, both those of a strictly comparative cut and those dedicated to the critical reconstruction of individual legal experiences, has the ambition to throw some light problem, of central importance in contemporary legal systems, of the inseparable link between federalism and constitutionalism, investigating better some salient aspects of this link, now with regard to the theory interpretative now in relation to its unfolding within the concrete institutional life. We have chosen to keep the original language of the contributions, some in Italian, others in English, not to disperse, in both cases, the precious nuances of the original language.
