Event Description

In September 2020, China proposed for the first time at the United Nations General Assembly the goal of achieving "carbon peaking" by 2030 and "carbon neutrality" by 2060. The carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals have put forward profound requirements for the transformation of the national economic system and the improvement of the institutional mechanism of ecological environmental protection. As an important ecological strategic region in Shanghai, Chongming District is making efforts to promote the construction of Chongming World-Сlass Ecological Island Carbon Neutral Demonstration Zone. In this process, it is worth exploring and studying how the legal system, including the environmental public interest litigation system, can play a protective role.
