Abstract | This article examines the role of indigenous communities in promoting social change and accomplishing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Using an integrative review, we offer an unbiased assessment of indigenous communities and SDGs. We contend that indigenous communities’ contribution to SDGs enhances technological innovations (via top-down or bottom-up approaches) and fosters social change.
