Abstract | In a fast-paced global environment, nations need to harness their youth if they want to drive progress. With its large youth bulge, Bangladesh is a pertinent example. Bangladeshi policy advocate Radwan Siddiq, in a September 2023, underlined the importance of cashing in on the demographic dividend by stating ‘the country’s youth need more tools.’ This article explores the role of digitisation in creating more youth-benefitting tools. In particular, it presents the findings of a 2022 ADB Institute study by the authors. This Bangladesh-focused study, titled ‘Demographic Dividend, Digital Innovation, and Economic Growth,’ underlines the symbiosis between youth, technology and prosperity. |
