Abstract | Removal of atrazine from aqueous phase was attempted in the range of 0–10 mg/l using various methods viz. adsorption by both treated and untreated wood charcoal. Atrazine was analyzed using gas chromatograph with OV-17 poropak stainless steel column. Although activated carbon is the major abatement methodology for many pesticides, treated wood charcoal showed higher removal efficiency than that of untreated wood charcoal. At pH 6.0, treated wood charcoal shows more than 90% removal efficiency. |
