Biography

Kirsty Owen is currently a Senior Lecturer (Crop Nematology) in the School of Agriculture and Environmental Science, and Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Crop Health at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. She has expertise in the management of root-lesion nematodes in grain crops. Her research interests include biotic constraints to crop production within farming systems, particularly interactions between nematodes, soil-borne diseases and beneficial arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Her teaching in biology, plant sciences and agriculture draws on her experiences in applied research and communication of research outcomes with the rural community.
