Abstract | Root-lesion nematodes, Pratylenchus thornei and P. neglectus are widely distributed in the northern grain region of Australia which encompasses inland northern NSW and south-east Queensland. This sub-tropical region has a summer dominant rainfall and fertile clay soils. A broad range of both summer and winter crop species are grown and it is notable for its production of Australian Prime Hard wheat (high protein milling wheat) and grain sorghum |
