Biography
Dr. B.F. Yousif is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. He also worked previously at the University of Nottingham as an Associate Professor. He has over 25 years experience in teaching and research. Dr. Yousif has extensive experience in teaching and developing mechanical courses, which predominately include: static, strength of materials, machine design elements, tribology, engineering materials, fibre composites, and internal combustion engines.
With regard to his research, Dr. Yousif has outstanding international research recognition. He has published more than 80 international articles in reputed international journals, with a Hi Index of 47. He is member of several editorial boards for international journals in the UK and US. In addition, he is an Associate Editor and Editor of two international journals and has led several special issues; the most pronounced one being the Materials & Design journal published by Elsevier. He is a reviewer for more than 20 Elsevier journals. He has supervised many PhD and Masters students. He was involved in several industrial projects and of notability one was with Petronas (Malaysia) on direct injection engines.
His current research focuses on sustainable systems, design and tribology which cover the areas of recyclable fibre polymer composites, waste oil as fuel and/or lubricants, and innovative system design.
