Biography
Kolbe-Alexander is currently Associate Head of School (Research), and the program Discipline Lead for Public Health in the School of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Southern Queensland. They are an honorary Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town (South Africa). Prior to immigrating to Australia (December 2013) she was a Senior Lecturer and Program Lead: Biokinetics (Clinical Exercise Physiology) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Expertise
Prof Kolbe-Alexander’s main research focus is the role of health seeking behaviours on health and well-being in communities, including those with low socio-economic status, regional and remote areas, and the Global South.
Her research expertise designing, implementing and evaluating innovative interventions in schools, communities and workplaces.
She has extensive experience in community-based participatory research methods and citizen science programs that aim to address health and equity outcomes.
