Biography

Professor Clint Moloney is considered a leading expert on COPD and led vital research in the Reduction of Avoidable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease emergency presentations. This research: 1. investigated a potential over-use of emergency services and 2. discovered gaps in outreach services devoted to the support of this lifelong disease. Research was undertaken in collaboration with three non-metropolitan health services in Southeast Queensland. Outcomes have informed referral treatment initiatives’ including advocation for the use of Case Manager roles to assist patients with effective self-management. Professor Moloney and Colleagues have published a series of articles on the findings of this project which be sourced @ https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2520-1506. Professor Moloney's main focus for research is now devoted to chronic health and hospital avoidance. He is also looking into innovative strategies can help better support and educate early career nurses. He will only be considering HDR students aligned with this topic.
