Abstract | The author examines the way the concept and process of restitution is evoked in legislation and used by the justice system in Australia as a response to youth crime. He extends discussion to the use of restitution in the discipline strategies of schools, and compares the use of restitution as a punishment/control mechanism and as a healing process in the practice of restorative justice. |
