Abstract

The skills required of accounting professionals have changed drastically during the last few decades. Accounting graduates are now expected to be equipped with the necessary skills to perform well in a fast changing corporate world. However, recent empirical evidence has shown that there is an increasing gap between what skills new accountants possess and skills they need at the workplace (Kavanagh, 2007).
