Abstract | This study investigates syntactic foams and foam core composites reinforced with ceramic hollow microspheres, emphasizing their mechanical performance and suitability for structural applications. Through a combination of literature review, material synthesis, and experimental testing, the research evaluates the compressive and flexural strength of epoxy-based syntactic foams. The effect of microsphere volume fraction on composite behavior is analyzed, revealing that an optimal balance between stiffness and weight reduction can be achieved. Furthermore, the study explores the fabrication of sandwich panels using syntactic foams as core material, offering insights into their failure mechanisms and structural efficiency. The results demonstrate the potential of ceramic microsphere-reinforced composites as lightweight, high-strength materials for civil engineering and construction industries. |
