| Abstract | It is reported in the past that concrete is not a suitable material to be confined by glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP). If GFRP jackets are used in timber pile rehabilitation then a new filler material development is necessary. As a result, this research investigates the structural properties of new polymer based concrete with different proportions of resin, sand and fly ash. This research aims at rehabilitating a portion of a pile by using a GFRP pile. Due to good compressive strength, pumpability and workability, the new polymer based filler material is to be filled in between GFRP pile and existing pile. A research program has been initiated to improve fundamental understanding of this material and to provide the knowledge required for its broad utilization. |
