Abstract

[Abstract]: This paper is designed as an exploratory study to ascertain if ‘baby boomers’ who are grandparents want to travel with their grandchild/ren and what they are seeking when they do. It is anticipated that a typology of the ‘gran’ (either gender) who is a ‘baby boomer’ will be developed. Questionnaires will be used to research the level of service, facilities, choices, safety, convenience, security, destination, travel arrangements comfort and guest room facilities both they and their grandchildren will require.

Thus developing a profile of this exciting market for the tourism industry to be better equipped to develop and deliver products which will meet or hopefully exceed the expectation of the ‘baby boomer’ cohort.
