Abstract | Energy storage remains a major discussion point in the Australian energy industry. While other nations implement energy storage strategies based on pumped hydro and distributed domestic battery energy storage, there has been little incentive from either Government policy or the electricity supply industry to promote and implement such option. Australia with its vast solar generation capacity, to further implement use of this resource needs energy storage. This is a case study to investigate the role energy storage and where the associated costs relate to current rising Australian energy costs. |
