Abstract | This presentation summarises online learning trends. It focuses on the implementation of Quality Matters (QM) standards for online and blended learning and a model that can be used to satisfy these standards. This model focuses on the seeking of ‘pockets of enthusiasm’ within the institution, enabling them to be widened and deepened as pockets of excellence, and then sharing them as exemplars for the spreading and networking of multiple pockets of enthusiasm and excellence. Finally, it posits the requirements for quality assurance after the pandemic: be quicker, less bureaucratic, do more with less, grant greater autonomy and greater self-regulation, and promote cooperation. |
