Biography
Prof. Maraseni is a Natural Resources Management and Environmental Economics Expert from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia. He has over 26 years work experience in the areas of household carbon emissions, value chain analysis, carbon accounting and modelling and environmental policy analysis. Over the past 6 year, he has successfully completed multiple research projects in 15 different countries ꟷAustralia, China, Nepal, India, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, PNG, Fiji and Vanuatuꟷ funded by world-renowned donor organisations. He has published over 230 publications—with co-authors from 33 different countries— with >6700 citations, with an h-index of 45 and a m-index of 3.1. Based on citations of publication he is ranked 4th globally in “Carbon Management” and 93rd in Forestry. His research work has been recognized through several national and international awards/fellowships including: (1) Research Excellence Award from University of Southern Queensland in 2009, 2014 and 2022; (2) “Senior International Scientist” award from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013; (3) “Climate Change Professional Fellows” award from the US State Department in 2011; (4) Queensland China Climate Change Fellowship from Queensland and Chinese Governments in 2009; (5) US National Science Foundation Fellowship 2009; (6) UniSQ Office of RHD Researcher of the Year Award 2009; and (7) First runner-up award from Elsevier Journal “Environmental Development” (2015).
