Abstract | The New Sport and Exercise Psychology Companion is a textbook and reference handbook. It is not meant to be read from the first to last page like a novel. We expect that most readers will examine chapters as part of an academic unit, in a sequence predetermined by their unit coordinators. Others will dip into chapters as they need to for their teaching or research. By the time you read this section, we hope you will have studied a good proportion of the book's content, so it is not our intention to revisit the specific topics here. The aim of this brief conclusion is to look at the bigger picture, reflecting on how we think sport and exercise psychology will develop over the coming years. The authors of each chapter have given their expert opinion on future directions for the topic they covered. Thus, our focus will be on general future directions in sport and exercise psychology. |
